@ArtByBlack Taps Into Deep Introspection and Late-Night Intimacy on “Private Hours”

Bay Area artist and Zambian native @ArtByBlack just dropped an introspective, alternative rap visual for his track “Private Hours.”

The video opens on a cryptic phone call: a woman’s whisper slowly sharpens into a question —

“So take me to the beginning. What type of love did you receive as a child?”

From there, the record turns into a two part confessional with a biscuit. “Private Hours” plays like a late-night monologue aimed at both his younger self and the woman on the line, portrayed by the stunning Jazzi Anderson (@jazzianderson) in the visual. The performance is vulnerable without being performative — the kind of honesty you usually only stumble into after midnight.

This one is for the introverts, deep reflectors, and hopeless romantics who replay old conversations in their head.

We pulled up to the listening party for Black’s upcoming album and walked out genuinely impressed. If the crowd’s reactions are any indication, “Private Hours” is just the opening chapter of a rollout you’re going to want to sit with, not scroll past.

Today, we got the chance to give back to the community in a way that felt both humbling and hopeful. City Eats partnered with House of Chicken and Waffles in Oakland to host a Christmas brunch for anyone who needed a hot meal. Throughout the day, we served over 300 meals and handed out toys to families and kids across Oakland—both to guests who came into the restaurant and through deliveries to local shelters. It was a reminder that “community” isn’t just a word; it’s something you build, plate by plate and person by person.

Oakland doesn’t just raise artists — it forges them. The city’s pressure, rhythm, and contradictions have a way of sharpening voices, and East Oakland’s Paidro Classic is one of those names that’s been building in plain sight for a minute. Part rapper,

Artists & designers are fuel for the F.A.M.E event, but in fashion, the product is only as good as the person representing it. Think of our models as the vehicles of the show. They come in all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and levels of experience, but one thing’s for certain: each brings a “je ne sais quoi” to their craft, the curio they sport, and this show.
